Our Principal, Mrs. Tyler Fussell, started in the Insurance industry in 2001. She has worked with some of the largest Insurers in the U.S. over the years. Years ago, she opened and operated a local insurance agency. Due to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina on the local community and insurance agencies, Tyler realized her calling was to serve in the Medicare industry. She then transitioned into a Medicare role and was hired by a company where she created the foundation by which the current agency was formed. 

In 2012, this agency was created by two women to be a bridge between carriers and the independent agent. Their vision was to create a place the independent agent could call home, a home to be educated, elevated, and empowered. In 2021, Tyler Fussell became the agency’s sole owner and the agency was rebranded as, The Fussell Group Insurance Advisors. To date, the agency boasts seven agency Team Leaders throughout the southern states, six partner agencies, and a team of over three hundred agents throughout the southern U.S. The leadership team gives FGIA a combined experience of over 50 years in the Medicare Industry. 

Tyler has been married to Brian Fussell for 26 years, and they share three children whose names are Kyle, Caroline (Hunter), and Ava. Brian and Caroline are actively working in the agency as the CFO and Director of Agent Experience, respectfully. The pulse of our agency is the family structure that our Agency Principal, Mrs. Fussell has nurtured with her own family and her agents over the years. When agents come to our home office, many say how much they feel like they are joining a family. It is Tyler’s desire that every agent must feel the warmth and acceptance of our office in Covington, LA; therefore, we invite all agents to our home office for our initial onboarding training and all other functions throughout the year. 

Mother & Daughter 

In 2017, Tyler Fussell hired her daughter Caroline, who was in high school, to be her receptionist after class. This lead to Caroline working throughout college, with her position growing as time went on and knowledge was gained, all while Caroline was earning her degree in Mass Communications with a Concentration in Sports at Southeastern Louisiana University. During the summer of 2021, Caroline earned her Insurance License before completing her Senior Semester of College. In December of 2021, Caroline graduated College and decided it was in her heart to stay on as part of the family business. Caroline explained, “there is nothing like working so close to home, with the woman that is home.. my mom.” She said, “I see so much growth and potential in this agency. I have watched my mom’s success since I was a little girl, I have been involved in the agency for five years, I just cannot imagine leaving now.” In March of 2022, Caroline got engaged, and says that all of the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. “This is home to me” she said, “I want to build my family in this community, assisting my mom with the growth of this agency, and loving what I do, with the people that I love every single day!”  This mother daughter duo sit side-by-side, and love supporting one another every single day!
